Operation

Overview

How the elevator controller of Create Managed Elevators works, in short, with links to the details.

Create moves the car; Create Managed Elevators decides where it goes and when it leaves. Every elevator gets its own controller as soon as its pulley is assembled and turning. It collects calls, picks the next stop, runs the doors and notices when something goes wrong.

A trip in short

  1. Somebody calls: a call button on a floor, the terminal in the cabin, redstone at a contact or Create's Contraption Controls. The call is stored.
  2. The car sets off towards the next stop in its direction and picks up further calls on the way.
  3. At the floor the doors open, stay open for a while and close. Only then does the car leave for the next stop.
  4. When no call is left, it waits at the last floor with the doors closed.

Call memory and collective control

Every call is kept; the car keeps its direction and stops on the way.

Door sequence

Open, wait, close, reopen for someone in the doorway, leave only after closing.

Groups of elevators

Several shafts side by side: the best car answers, another one takes over on a fault.

Faults and rescue

No drive, overloaded or stuck; rescue run, emergency light and alarm.

Floor names

Short and long names on the contact and where they show up.

Arrival chime

One tone for up, two for down.

Switching an elevator off

Take the drive away and the elevator is off, not broken.
Calls and per-elevator settings are stored with the world. Calls that were open when you saved are still there after loading.
