Settings
Every option in config/createmanagedelevators.json with its default and meaning, and how to override them per elevator in the terminal window.
Every time and option of Create Managed Elevators can be changed: for all elevators in a config file, and for single elevators in their terminal window.
The config file
The file is config/createmanagedelevators.json in the game folder (on a server, in the server's folder). It is read
when the server starts (in singleplayer: when you open the world) and then written back with every option, so new
options from an update show up by themselves. Times are in seconds.

| Option | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
doorOpenSeconds | 3.0 | How long the doors stay fully open. |
doorMoveSeconds | 1.0 | How long opening and closing take. The car only leaves after closing; the door animation follows this time. |
brakingDistanceBlocks | 2 | Minimum distance between car and floor for a call to be served on the way. |
retargetDelaySeconds | 1.0 | If the car stands still at the wrong place, its target is sent again after this time. |
faultDetectSeconds | 2.0 | How long a car may be without drive between floors until a fault is detected. The drive must be back for just as long before the rescue run starts. |
stuckDetectSeconds | 10.0 | How long a car may stand still between floors despite its drive until it counts as stuck. |
keepCabinCallsOnFault | false | Keep the calls from the cabin after a fault instead of dropping them. |
arrivalChime | true | Gong on arrival: one tone means the car goes up, two tones down. |
groupStopPenaltyBlocks | 6 | Group control: extra cost of every stop a car makes before reaching a call, in blocks of travel. Higher values prefer idle cars. |
callButtonSearchRadius | 4 | How far a call button looks to the side for an elevator contact (1 to 16). |
callButtonSearchHeight | 3 | How far a call button looks up and down for an elevator contact (1 to 8). |
cabinLightsLightWorld | true | Cabin lights also light the inside of the moving car with an invisible light block that travels along. Costs light updates. |
If the file cannot be read, for example because of a typo, the mod uses the defaults and writes an error to the log.
It leaves the broken file alone for you to fix.
Per elevator: the terminal window
Every elevator can override the values that concern its own trips. Open the window of its Cabin Terminal (click the display, or sneak and click) and go to the Settings tab.
| Field in the window | Option |
|---|---|
| Doors stay open (s) | doorOpenSeconds |
| Door travel time (s) | doorMoveSeconds |
| Minimum braking distance (blocks) | brakingDistanceBlocks |
| Fault after (s) | faultDetectSeconds |
| Stuck after (s) | stuckDetectSeconds |
| Keep cabin calls after a fault | keepCabinCallsOnFault |
| Chime on arrival | arrivalChime |
- Save stores the values for this elevator. The window then says "This elevator uses its own settings".
- Use global values removes them again; the elevator follows the config file ("This elevator uses the global settings").
- Changes take effect immediately and are stored with the world.
The other options (retargetDelaySeconds, group penalty, button search range, lighting) only exist globally.
Long door times suit a busy lobby elevator; short ones a quick goods lift. A higher braking distance makes a fast
elevator skip calls it could only reach with a hard stop.
