Control desk and window
Railway Control Desk
The Railway Control Desk is a dispatcher's workplace with a screen and a keyboard. A right click opens the
Line Management window, the same window as the command /cmr.
It also tells you at a glance whether something is wrong. While a station closure, a disruption profile or a signal lock is in effect:
- the red warning lamp burns,
- the screen shows a disruption line,
- the block emits a redstone signal.
Sneak + right-click with an empty hand gives the desk a control area. Without one it is an admin desk that sees and operates the whole network.
The window
Feedback and text input sit in the status line at the bottom; confirm input with Enter or OK. The tabs:
| Tab | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Lines | Lines, their schedules and trains, see Lines and schedules. |
| Schedules | Managed schedules. |
| Stations | Close stations, replacement stops, reasons, a call to one station. |
| Profiles | Disruption profiles and their timetable. |
| Map | The live track map. |
| Routes | Saved routes. |
| Signals | Light signals, speed boards and switching signals from a distance. |
| Areas | Control areas. |
| Announcements | Notices and calls for the platform loudspeakers. |
| Log | Who changed what and when, including automatic changes (auto-sync, day and night, closures running out). |
A desk with a control area only has the tabs Stations, Map, Routes and Signals.
At the top, Apply all (n) writes all noted changes into the trains, see Lines and schedules.
Who may do what
The mod uses the permissions of Create Railways Navigator (CRN):
- Looking is allowed for everybody.
- Operating the signal box (locking signals, holding trains, routes, substitute signal, control areas, signals tab) needs the right to change CRN's "Global Settings".
- Assigning and applying a line needs edit rights for that line in CRN.
Everything is checked on the server, also what a desk with a control area may touch. Every change lands in the Log.
