Timings and settings
Right click the Crossing Control Box with Create's wrench to open Level crossing settings. Only players with the management right may change them (whoever may change CRN's Global Settings); an ordinary click changes nothing.

Barrier settings
Each Crossing Barrier has its own settings (Create's wrench): Boom length 2 to 8 blocks, Hanging skirt on or off, and the Paint. See The parts.
On-call crossing
On quiet roads German railways use crossings that are closed by default and open only on request. Choose Call barrier as the mode of the control box, then:
Put up a call post
Place a Call Post at the crossing and connect it to the control box with the connection cable.
Someone asks to cross
A right click on the call post pulls the lever. Everyone with the management right gets a chat message, and the crossing flashes yellow on the track map.
The signal box releases it
Click the crossing in the Map tab of the Line Management window, or directly on a track diagram desk or console. The barriers open for the set time (10 s by default), then close again.
- If a train is coming, the crossing is not released.
- A call expires after 60 seconds.
- A redstone pulse at the control box also releases it, for a signal box without a player.
Redstone
| Where | In | Out |
|---|---|---|
| Crossing Control Box | A redstone signal secures the whole crossing; a pulse releases a call barrier. | Redstone signal while the crossing is secured. |
| Barrier, light or monitoring signal | A redstone signal secures only this one part. | |
| Track Contact | Redstone signal while a train stands over it. |
The crossing appears on the track map with its name and its state. More about the map and the signal box in Interlocking.
