PZB supervision
The mod supervises after PZB 90, train category O (the highest), with the values of the real railway and one block counting as one metre.
Who is supervised
- Only trains with a Train Protection Cabinet with PZB switched on, and never a train under ETCS supervision.
- 2000 Hz brakes every such train, also one running on its schedule.
- 1000 Hz and 500 Hz supervise trains driven by hand. A train on a schedule keeps to the signals anyway and could not press Wachsam.
The rules
| After … | The driver must … | Otherwise |
|---|---|---|
| 2000 Hz (signal at stop) | not pass it at all | emergency brake to a stand |
| 1000 Hz (expect stop) | press Wachsam within 4 s, then come down from 165 to 85 km/h within 23 s and stay at most 85 km/h up to 1250 m after the magnet | emergency brake |
| 500 Hz (signal close ahead) | run at most 65 km/h at the magnet, down to 45 km/h after 153 m, up to 250 m after the magnet | emergency brake |

Restrictive supervision
If a train runs slower than 10 km/h for 15 seconds inside a supervised section (it stood in front of the signal), PZB no longer trusts it: the limit drops to 45 km/h after 1000 Hz and 25 km/h after 500 Hz. The lamps 70 and 85 flash alternately while this holds.
Frei
The key Frei does two things:
- At a stand it releases an emergency brake application.
- It ends the supervision after a 1000 Hz magnet once the train is 700 m past the magnet (the 1000 Hz lamp is out), and only if no 500 Hz supervision is running. Restrictive supervision ends with it.
Before that, the cab says "release only 700 m after the 1000 Hz magnet and not after 500 Hz", or "release only at a stand" while the train moves.
PZB Panel
The PZB Panel goes on the front wall of the Driver's Console. It shows the real lamps:
| Lamp | Colour | Lit when |
|---|---|---|
| 85 | blue | normally, as the lamp of the train category |
| 70 / 85 | blue | flash alternately in restrictive supervision |
| 55 | blue | (not used: the mod only knows train category O) |
| 1000 Hz | yellow | for 700 m after an active 1000 Hz magnet |
| 500 Hz | red | while 500 Hz supervision runs |
| Befehl | white | while an order from the dispatcher over the train radio is valid |
- Right click on the panel: Wachsam.
- Sneak + right click: Frei.
Keys
| Key | Function |
|---|---|
| B | PZB Wachsam |
| N | PZB Frei |
| K | Open the PZB display |
They work while you are on a train whose console carries the PZB Panel, and can be changed in the controls settings. While a 1000 Hz magnet waits for Wachsam, a horn sounds in the cab.
PZB display
K on the train opens a large PZB window: the lamps in large, your speed, the speed supervised right now, the reason of a forced braking (Wachsam not pressed, too fast for the supervision, signal at stop) and the keys Wachsam, Frei and Befehl. Befehl 40 is given by the dispatcher over the train radio; the key itself has no effect.
If the window says "No PZB", the train lacks a cabinet with PZB switched on, or it runs under ETCS.
Orders
With a valid order from the dispatcher (see Train radio) the Befehl lamp burns and the train passes the 2000 Hz magnet at the signal of the order without braking.
