Trains

Train lamps

Head and tail lights after the rule book (Zg 1, Zg 2), the tail board and the interior lights.

Train lamps switch themselves on the train and know which way it runs. All of them shine regardless of the light around them.

Placing a lamp

Click the face of a block where the lamp should sit. It sits where you click: in the middle, at an edge or in a corner of the face (nine positions). On a slab or a thin panel, which does not fill its block, the lamp moves back onto the surface by itself.

Off a train a right click switches a lamp on and off.

Head and tail signals

BlockShows
HeadlightWhite at the front of the train, red at the rear, dark between two cars.
Tail LightRed, only at the rear of the train. Sneak-click it to make it flash (Zg 2 allows that).
Tail BoardThe red and white board, Zg 2 without light. Hang it only at the end of the train.

How to arrange them, as in the German rule book:

  • Head signal (Zg 1): three white lights in the shape of an A on a locomotive or driving trailer, two at the same height on other vehicles. Place three Headlights accordingly.
  • Tail signal (Zg 2): two red lights at the same height. At the rear the upper light of the A stays dark by itself, so the Headlights alone already give a correct tail signal. Tail Lights do the same on cars without Headlights.
  • When the train reverses, front and rear swap. When two trains are coupled, the lamps follow the whole train.
The Exterior Light Switch on the console sets all head and tail lights of the train: automatic (always on), always on, or off. Without a switch they are always on.

Interior lights

BlockWhat it is
Round Train LampA round lamp, warm white.
Light StripRuns from block edge to block edge; several in a row form one seamless band, like along the ceiling of an ICE.
Light PanelA single rectangle, like above the windows of an S-Bahn.
Overhead Shelf with Light BandLuggage shelf with a light band along its front.
Louvre Ceiling LightFlat louvre light under the ceiling, see Interior.
  • On the ceiling a Light Strip or Light Panel runs in the direction you look, on a wall horizontally. Placed while sneaking, it runs across.
  • Colour: Create's wrench switches the colour: warm white, cool white, blue, violet. On a train a sneak-click on the Interior Light Switch changes the colour of all interior lights at once.
  • On the train the interior lights switch on at night and in the dark, for example in a tunnel. The Interior Light Switch can set them to always on or off. Without a switch they run automatic.
A sneak-click on the Interior Light Switch on a train without interior lights answers "This train has no light strips or panels".
