Automatic updates
Normally nothing reaches the trains until someone applies. That way you can collect several changes and apply them together. A few things are applied by the mod itself, and you can switch on more.
Overview
| Trigger | What is applied | Switched by |
|---|---|---|
| Change between day and night | Lines with a night schedule | Assigning a night schedule |
| A timed closure expires | All lines | Close for a while... |
| A profile's timetable switches | All lines | Timetable of the profile |
| A line's trains differ from its schedule | That line, every 5 seconds | Auto-sync of the line |
| A closure, replacement stop, extra stop or profile changes | All lines, at once | Effective at once |
All automatic changes appear in the Log marked automatic.
Night schedule
A line can have a second managed schedule for the night. In the Lines tab select the line and click Night schedule; Remove night schedule takes it away again.
- Night is game time 13000 to 23000 of the day, that is from 19:00 to 5:00 on the game clock.
- At the change the mod switches the line to the other schedule and applies it at once. The details show At night: name (active now) while the night schedule is in force.
- Closures and extra stops apply to the night schedule as well.
Auto-sync
Auto-sync keeps a line's trains on its schedule. Every 5 seconds the mod checks whether trains of the line differ from the schedule in force and, if so, applies the line.
- Use it for lines you change often or where trains are added from time to time.
- On a line with auto-sync, closures and extra stops take effect after a few seconds by themselves; there is no "collect first, apply later" on such a line.
- Undo switches auto-sync of the line off, otherwise it would overwrite the restored schedules right away.
Switch it in the Lines tab (Auto-sync: on / off) or with /cmr autosync <line> on|off.
Effective at once
Effective at once writes closures, replacement stops, extra stops and profiles into the trains of all lines the moment you change them, instead of only noting them. Then nobody has to press Apply any more.
- Switch it in the Stations tab (Effective at once: on / off) or with
/cmr autoapply on|off. - It is a setting for the whole network, so it is only available at a signal box without a district (or by command).
- It applies to all lines, also to lines that the player making the change may not edit in CRN. Otherwise a closure would have no effect on lines owned by others.
- Changes to a managed schedule itself (editing, replacing from hand) are not covered. Apply those, or use auto-sync.
- The default is off.
