Lines and applying
The Lines tab lists every CRN line with its colour and the number of its trains. Select a line to see its schedule, its trains (with their delay) and the stations it serves.
Assigning a schedule
Select the line
Click the line in the list on the left.
Choose the schedule
Click Choose schedule and click one of your managed schedules. The line now shows Schedule: name.
Optionally, a night schedule
Click Night schedule to give the line a second schedule for the night. See Automatic updates.
Apply
Click Preview to check, then Apply to trains.
The same managed schedule may be assigned to several lines; each line applies it to its own trains.
The buttons of a line
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Choose schedule | Assigns a managed schedule to the line. |
| Night schedule / Remove night schedule | A second schedule that applies automatically at night. |
| Apply to trains | Writes the schedule in force now into all trains of the line. |
| Preview | Shows per train the stops it has now and the stops it would get, without changing anything. |
| Add train | Gives a train that is not on the line the line's schedule. Its whole previous schedule is replaced. |
| Interval: off / n s | Minimum gap in seconds between trains of the line (0 = off, up to 3600). |
| Auto-sync: on / off | Brings trains that differ from the schedule back in line every 5 seconds. |
| Undo (n) | Restores, per train, the schedule from before the last change. n is the number of trains that can be restored. |
| Remove assignment | The line no longer has a managed schedule; its trains keep what they run now. |
What "apply" does exactly
- Only trains on the line are changed, that is, trains whose schedule contains CRN's Travel Section entry for it.
- In each train only the section of this line is replaced. A train that runs several lines one after the other keeps its other sections.
- The train finds its place in the new schedule by its next destination, so it does not start from the first stop again.
- What is written is the effective schedule: the managed schedule plus extra stops, minus closed stations, with the interval if one is set.
- If no stop would be left after removing the closed stations, the line is not applied and you get the message "Not applied: there would be no stop left".
- The answer tells you how many trains were updated and how many were already up to date.
Preview
Preview lists every train of the line with will change or already up to date, and for trains that change the stops now and then. From the preview you can apply directly or go Back.
Adding a train
Add train lists the trains that do not run on the line yet. Trains that already have a schedule are marked (its schedule will be replaced). Click one and it gets the effective schedule of the line, including the Travel Section entry, so from then on it belongs to the line.
Interval
Interval sets a minimum gap in seconds between the trains of the line. CMR uses CRN's Train Separation for this, at the first stop of the schedule. Set it to 0 to switch it off. The interval reaches the trains when the line is applied.
Undo
Every time CMR writes a schedule into a train, it keeps the train's previous schedule. Undo puts these back for all trains of the line.
