Train Radio
Voice and keys
Talking over the train radio with Simple Voice Chat or the chat, and the keys G and J.
Speaking with Simple Voice Chat
Simple Voice Chat is optional. When it is installed on the server and the clients, a radio call carries your real voice:
- During a call your microphone goes over the radio. The other side hears you however far away they are, as long as both have a network.
- You talk with Simple Voice Chat's own push-to-talk key (or voice activation), as usual.
- In a group or emergency call everybody in the call hears the speaker.
- At a signal telephone everybody standing within 4 blocks of it speaks on the line.
The radio window says Speech: over Voice Chat.
Without Simple Voice Chat
Without the mod the window says Speech: chat goes over the radio during a call: while you are in a call, what you type into the chat goes only to the other side of the call, marked "Train radio". Outside a call the chat works as usual.
Keys
| Key | Action | Works |
|---|---|---|
| G | Open the train radio | on a train with a Cab Radio (as that train), otherwise with a GSM-R Handheld Radio in the inventory |
| J | Answer a call, or hang up | the same, without opening the window |
Both keys can be changed in Minecraft's Controls settings under the category "Create Managed Railways". Without a radio at hand the keys answer "No train radio at hand: board a train with a cab radio or carry a handheld radio".
All keys of the mod are listed under Train keys.
