Radio desk

The Dispatcher Radio Desk in the signal box, in brief - the full train radio is described in its own chapter.

The Dispatcher Radio Desk is the dispatcher's place in the train radio (GSM-R). It belongs in the signal box next to the track diagram.

  • Right click opens the radio: calls to single trains, a group call to everybody in the area, the emergency call, fixed messages ("Wait", "Proceed", "Stay put").
  • Order: the dispatcher allows a train standing at a signal at stop to pass it. A lock of the signal box no longer holds this train, and neither ETCS nor the PZB magnet stop it there.
  • Signal telephones that called in the last minutes are listed with the train waiting there; the dispatcher can ring back and give that train its order.
  • The desk is wired and always has network, no radio mast needed.
  • Area: sneak + right-click with an empty hand gives it a control area, like a control desk. Without one it serves the trains within 512 blocks.
  • Where no desk is staffed, the automatic dispatcher answers.

Everything else, from radio masts to Simple Voice Chat, is in the chapter Train radio.
