Railway lamps
Seven lamps for platforms, yards and loading roads that give real light and switch on by themselves at dusk or at set hours.
The Railway Lamp lights platforms, yards and loading roads. It gives off real light and switches by itself; no player has to be nearby or flip a lever.

Types
| Type | Where it fits |
|---|---|
| Mushroom lamp | Light bulb under a flat round shade, as on old platforms. |
| Platform lamp on a bracket | Light box on a short bracket, shining downwards. |
| Platform lamp, two brackets | The same on both sides, for island platforms. |
| Strip light | A fluorescent tube across the top of the mast. |
| Globe lamp | Opal glass globe on the mast. |
| Lantern | Glazed housing with a sheet metal roof. |
| Floodlight | Two spotlights on a crossbar, for yards and loading roads. |
The floodlight does not light its surroundings like the others. It throws its beam forward onto the ground in front of it, so point it where the light is needed when you place it.
Placing and setting it up
Place the lamp on the ground or on top of a Signal Mast: on a mast it takes over the mast's style, so you can make it as tall as you like. It can also stand diagonally.
Right click it with Create's wrench (management right needed):
| Setting | Choices |
|---|---|
| Type | one of the seven above |
| Switching | At dusk: burns as soon as it gets dark, and always in worlds without a sky. By time of day: from On at to Off at (game time: 6:00 is sunrise, 18:00 is sunset). Always on: day and night. Off: stays dark. |
For a station set all lamps to At dusk and they come on together in the evening. In tunnels and underground
stations use Always on.
To place many lamps with the same settings, see Copying settings.
