Train Radio

Calls and messages

Individual calls, group calls and the fixed messages of the train radio.

Individual call

Choose whom to call

Open the radio (G on the train or with the handheld radio, a right click on the desk) and select a subscriber under Reachable: a train, a handheld radio, a radio desk or a signal telephone.

Call

Press Call. The other side hears the radio ring and gets a chat line "Call from ... – answer on the radio". The call rings for about 30 seconds; if nobody answers, it ends with "... does not answer".

Answer and talk

The other side presses Answer in the window or J. Now you are connected and talk over Simple Voice Chat or, without it, through the chat. See Voice and keys.

Hang up

Hang up in the window or J again ends the call for both sides.

Each radio has one call at a time. Calling someone who is already talking gives "... is busy". The automatic dispatcher cannot be called, it only takes messages.

Group call

Only at the Dispatcher Radio Desk: Group call reaches every train and handheld radio in the desk's area at once, like the real call to "all drivers in the area". Everybody in it hears the dispatcher.

Fixed messages

Messages with a fixed wording, as the operating rules prescribe. They need no call: choose the message, select the recipient under Reachable and press Send. They arrive in the chat with a short tone and stay in the radio's History.

Understood"Understood"
Stopped at signal names the signal the train waits at. Give your light signals a name in their settings, then the dispatcher knows at once where you stand.

The messages say what to do; they do not move signals. To let a train past a red signal, the dispatcher gives an order.
