Buffer stop

The braking buffer stop at the end of the track.

In Create a train simply runs off the end of the track. The Buffer Stop stops it there: it brakes trains running up to it and holds them short of the buffers, whether they are driven by hand or by schedule.

Placing

At the end of the track

Place the Buffer Stop onto the last piece of track or on the ground just behind it. On the track it sits down on the rails.

Facing the train

It faces you when you place it, so stand on the track and look towards the end of the line.

The buffer stop is as wide as the track. It needs no settings and no power.

Good to know

  • It brakes every train that runs up to it, also scheduled trains whose last stop lies a little short of the end.
  • For trains with PZB, put a PZB Track Magnet set to always in front of it, as on the real railway. See Train protection.
On a terminus, put the Create station a few blocks before the buffer stop. Trains then stop at the platform, and the buffer stop only catches the ones that overrun.
